(HSCMH August 30, 2013) Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital is partnering with other entities in Hot Springs County to bring attention to the growing national epidemic, obesity. 25.7 percent of the population of Hot Springs County is estimated to be obese based on BMI. Our combined goal is awareness, reduction, and prevention of this disease. This coalition is looking for volunteers aged 18 and older to take the first step. The program will advise you of local organizations to help you in your efforts to loose unhealthy weight, eat the right kinds of food at an affordable price, and begin an exercise program for your level of fitness. The action is in conjunction with the Affordable Care Act. | ||||||||
